About Me

I currently work as a “Developer of Awesome” for Jive Communications building telecommunications software.  Jive is pushing the envelope of hosted pbx solutions for enterprise applications.  I’m very grateful and proud to be part of such an energetic and innovative team of developers.

When it comes to programming languages my weapons of choice are Java and Python.  Other programming languages I am familiar with include, C++, C#, Clojure, MIPS and IA-32 assembly. I’m a Jetbrains fanboy and love IntelliJ IDEA.  My favorite text editors are vim and Sublime Text. As for version control and build systems I am most familiar with GIT and Maven.  Also, I’m equally comfortable working across several platforms such as Windows, OSX, and various flavors of *nix, but OSX is by far my favorite development platform.

Academically, my elective coursework has been in open source development, and advanced Java development, and Agile Practices. However, I also have an interest in A.I. and, more specifically, genetic algorithms. During my college career I held the position of President of the Alpha Eta Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and participated in the Portland Cooperative Education Program at Portland State University in which I interned at Tripwire and Cambia Health Solutions.
